The record

Rossi Ice Cream, a traditional British ice cream maker founded in 1932 and based in Southend, supplies the Hemsby beach concession whose fleet of vintage Land Rovers converted into ice cream vans works Hemsby beach in summer and, on busy days, drives up the sand to Winterton-on-Sea. This one was photographed trading at Winterton in August 2011: a Series 109 with headlamps in the grille panel, hot pink below the waist and a cream box body above, the body carried forward over the cab roof as a sign peak reading ROSSI SUPER ICE CREAM with model cones either side, a serving window and menu boards on the nearside, lolly decals and white wheels. The photographer read the registration as AVG 31J but was not sure; the Hemsby van photographed in 1993 as FVG 31J, a 1971 Series IIA registered in the UK in 1984 and still on the road in 2021, has the same body and it is very likely the same vehicle in a later livery.

The registry's model reuses its Hemsby van body with the pink lower livery, sign peak and cones, lettering and plate from the 2011 photograph.
