Zipkin (Turkish for 'harpoon') is Aselsan's pedestal-mounted short-range air defence system, developed alongside the tracked Atilgan for the Turkish armed forces. On the Defender the pedestal turret sits on a flat box body behind a single cab and carries two four-round Stinger launcher pods, a 12.7 mm machine gun, a thermal camera, laser rangefinder and IFF, networked to the battery command post; the crew fire from inside the cab or by remote. defenceturk.net's photograph shows the vehicle in three-tone camouflage with a snorkel, whip aerials on the bonnet and wing and louvred body sides. The Turkish Naval Forces' list of equipment records 21 Zipkin systems for the navy and its amphibious marine brigade, alongside those of the army.
The registry's model is a Defender 130 in camouflage with the snorkel, aerials, black grille, louvred box body and the pedestal turret with Stinger pods and gun; in the game the turret fires and can be jettisoned as cargo. The queue's own image link pointed at a Phalanx CIWS thumbnail, so the user-supplied defenceturk.net photograph was used instead.
