The record
Naval air stations kept small four-wheel-drive rescue vehicles alongside their foam tenders to reach a crashed helicopter or aircraft across the airfield and its surrounds. Q877 OBP, a Series III 109 truck cab in fire red with a locker body on the bed, served RNAS Portland — HMS Osprey, the Dorset helicopter base — and carries RNAS PORTLAND / RESCUE on its doors, ROYAL NAVY on the body sides, ladders on a roof rack, hose and rescue tools in the lockers, a red barred guard over the grille with blue lamps below and a Q-prefix registration marking its late civil registration after military service. ukemergency.co.uk photographed it in preservation alongside RAF and other fire vehicles.
The registry's model is a red Series III 109 truck cab with the locker body, lettering, roof-rack ladders, grille guard and blue lamps; in the game it carries water-pool pickups and the blue-light boost.
