The record
Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, based at Grassington, covers the Yorkshire Dales fells and caves around Wharfedale and runs two Defender 110 mountain rescue ambulances, Fell 1 (PO59 ODU, a 2009-registered Puma Defender) and Fell 2 (YJ64 BRF), photographed together by ukemergency.co.uk in January 2021. Fell 1 is an orange utility wagon — front and rear passenger doors with windows but the rear side windows panelled over in white — with a white roof, MOUNTAIN RESCUE AMBULANCE in blue on the white rear quarters and mirrored on the bonnet, FELL 1 and the Mountain Rescue cross on the rear doors, two rows of red and white chequer along the lower body, a black grille with blue LED strobes, a winch bumper with the winch under a cover, a snorkel on the left A-pillar, and a full-length roof rack with a blue light bar carrying a stretcher and rescue kit; it rides on white steel wheels.
The registry's model reproduces Fell 1 with the panelled rear quarters, chequer and lettering, grille strobes and light bar, winch, snorkel and rack; in the game the roof kit drops as cargo and it carries the blue-light boost and winch pickups.
