Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team covers the North Pennine moors of County Durham and the upper Tees from bases at Barnard Castle and Durham. ukemergency.co.uk photographed NX14 GKO, the team's newer Defender 110 station wagon, at Durham fire station: white with a fluorescent yellow front panel, black winch bumper, mirrored Ambulance lettering on the bonnet, a black roof rack whose front legs come down to frame the windscreen, four spot lamps and a MOUNTAIN RESCUE light bar on the rack front and a large cargo bag behind, two rows of red and white chequer along the doors and rear body, MOUNTAIN RESCUE on the doors, the team badge and TEESDALE & WEARDALE MOUNTAIN RESCUE AMBULANCE on the panelled rear quarters, yellow corner blocks on the rear doors and white steel wheels. The team runs it with NK53 TYA, an older Defender kept at Barnard Castle.
