To re-enter the United States market, Land Rover North America had a special series of Defender 110 station wagons built in 1993 to Federal specification: the 3.9-litre fuel-injected V8 with a five-speed manual gearbox, catalytic converters, US lighting and bumpers, a full external roll cage, brush bar, side steps and, for most, Alpine White paint with each car carrying a numbered plaque. Five hundred were built for the US and a further twenty-five for Canada. Sold through Range Rover dealers, they became instant collectors' items and paved the way for the NAS Defender 90 of 1994–97. The Wikimedia Commons photograph shows a 1993 car with aftermarket Hella lamps on its brush bar and black steel wheels in place of the original alloys.
The registry's model is a white Defender 110 station wagon with the external cage, brush bar and lamps, side steps and black wheels.
