The record

When the PSNI began looking for a successor to its long-serving Tangi armoured Land Rovers, Hobson Industries — the Lincolnshire Land Rover specialist and armourer — built a prototype public-order vehicle on the Defender 110 and it was evaluated on the streets, appearing among the Tangis policing the Twelfth of July parades where Joint-Forces.com photographed it in 2021. Outwardly close to the Tangi in white with blue and yellow battenburg, POLICE lettering and caged roof beacons, it differed in a single mesh guard covering the whole front including the headlamps, deep mesh skirts hanging below the body sides and the front bumper against petrol bombs and missiles, and the force web address on the cab; on the day it carried a DETERMINATION ENDS PAST THIS POINT board on its side. The design was not adopted for production.

The registry's model is built from the Tangi with the full-front mesh, hanging skirts, web address, sign board and PAZ 4792 plate; in the game it is bullet- and shell-proof and carries the blue-light boost.
