No Time To Die Series III

James Bond's Jamaican runabout in No Time To Die (2021): a blue 1977 Land Rover Series III 88-inch, right-hand drive with a bonnet-mounted spare and grey plastic wheel-arch extensions, which Daniel Craig drives from Bond's house into Port Antonio to meet Felix Leiter — and which, in the story, later refuses to start outside the bar.

The record

Land Rover was an official partner of the twenty-fifth Bond film, and alongside the new Defenders of the chase sequences, a Range Rover Sport and a Range Rover Classic, the production gave the retired Bond an old Series III as his personal car in Jamaica. The choice fits the character: a plain, well-used working Land Rover rather than anything exotic, its spare wheel on the bonnet and grey plastic arch extensions over the wheels, in a faded blue.

The car's scenes were among the first shot for the film. On 28 April 2019 the unit filmed Bond driving from West Street into Port Antonio's town square, and in May 2019 it filmed him leaving his house and passing a cricket match at Folly Oval; Bond drives into town after finding an intruder at the house, is followed by Felix Leiter, and on leaving the bar finds the Land Rover will not start and takes a lift with Nomi instead. The official 007 site describes the car as a 1977 two-door with a four-speed manual gearbox and gives its engine as a 2.5-litre petrol; a 1977 Series III would normally carry the 2.25-litre four-cylinder. The registration reads 733 PFP on screen in most accounts, though the official site prints it as 733 PFR. Where the car was sourced, who prepared it and what became of it after filming are not recorded in the published sources.
